Sony patent PSP Phone?
The platform holder have however denied that a mobile-PSP device is being created, although they seem to be struggling to explain the existence of a patent filing which seems to detail the same contraption.
The patent application, available online, includes a touch-screen interface, a rotating display, and offers phone mode, web-browser mode and music player mode.
Held side-ways, we're told the phone mimics "the look and feel of the popular Sony PlayStation Portable gaming device" including PSP-like controls at either end.
Force-feedback is even hinted, while online bloggers are already drawing comparisons with the iPhone. Sony execs have in the past hinted that devices like phones and gaming handhelds are likely to converge more in the future - but have always denied PlayStation phone rumours.
So, gossip this remains for now, but we'll keep you posted.
