Alone In The Dark PS3: "End Of 2008" Ben Dutka 23 May 2008

It's one of the most promising games of the year, but PlayStation 3 owners have been wondering if they'll ever see it.
Alone in the Dark has been getting some awfully good press lately, and it has been confirmed for the Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, and PC. It's scheduled for a June release, but this is where PS3 owners go, "hey, where's our version?" Well, the nasty rumor is that the PS3 version has been canceled, but we can clear that up right now: according to what Sony's Phil Harrison told GameTrailers, we can expect to see it "by the end of the year." Now, this is well behind the other versions, of course, but at least it's better than nothing. And besides, with that size time gap, perhaps PS3 owners can look forward to extras the other versions won't have. Hopefully, this will be one of the very last examples of a PS3 version lagging way behind, as more and more developers are starting to use Sony's platform as the lead console for their projects.
We'll still be waiting for a release date, but for now, we can say that Alone in the Dark is indeed still coming to the PS3. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
